We are excited to announce the winners of the coding contest which was held on Saturday, June 6th, 2020.
The Genie Academy code competition was a two-part test of our students' and guest students' knowledge of practical coding, focused on HTML and CSS.
The first part was a quiz so they could show their familiarity with tags, and fixing tags that were set up incorrectly.
The second part of the competition was recreating a website designed by one of our code teachers. This competition was focused on airplanes. Students were given the example of pages, along with all of the text that was used. They then recreated the website to the best of their abilities with a 35-minute time limit.
The Genie Academy code classes start off with HTML skills. Students then get familiarity with CSS, and JavaScript.
